Savannah!!!! Such an incredibly beautiful city!

We stayed in Savannah for almost 3 days, before Hurricane Mathew chased us out.  Savannah is VERY cute!  It is historic, filled with lots of old buildings- everything is from the early to mid-1800's, with some buildings from the 20th century.  One of our tour guides said that as they refurbish buildings, they are finding beautiful architecture underneath.  

Savannah is known for two things: ghosts and pirates.....AAAARG!  Be scared!  Took a couple ghost tours- one in a hearse!  The other in a trolley.  Both showed us around town, and we saw the old city with night lights:-)  Beautiful, daytime or night time!  And the food!!!!

No city known for ghosts would ever be interesting without a cool, creepy old cemetary!!!!

During the war (when the South talks of "the war" it is understood they mean the civil war.
Other wars are identfied by name.  After the war, Union soldiers tented in the cemetary.  For kicks, they kicked over
headstones.  No one knows where the actual bodies are, but the headstones are placed on a wall in the back
as a remembrance of the dead.

The oldest Catholic Church in Georgia!  Has the most beautiful stained glass inside!

Ghost tour!!!!  In a hearse!!!  What better way to hear ghost stories!

Pirates in Savannah!  The story is that Blackbeard came here when he landed.  In the restaurant/bar "Pirates House", the story is that when pirates needed men for their ships, if there were not enough volunteers, they would give a micky to an unsuspecting drinker.  Once he passed out, then dumped him down a hidden passage in the bar, and dragged them to the ship.  By the time they woke up, the ship was out to sea.

Candy factory!!

There are old, refurbished boats to take you across the Savannah river to the hotels.   The boat is free, and the view is cool!
